Full Description
Peover Park & Gardens. Landscape park of c.120 ha, possibly designed by William Emes in 1728 (1). Lake to N of house and avenue of lime trees and other fine parkland trees. Woodland belts enclose parkland. N & E of the Hall is formal lawn garden with shallow ha-ha towards park. 19th C formal gardens laid out by Sir Philip Tatton Mainwaring c.1890 & Sir Herbert Worthington 1920 and redeveloped since 1960, consisting of a series of enclosed gardens with clipped yew topiary (2) & (3).
