Full Description
A possible round barrow. Reported by Sainter as a large conical mound with the appearance of a tumulus, near the head of the reservoir at Langley (1). OS conclude that this is a large natural mound, whose slopes flow without break, into their surroundings (2). Site is very prominently positioned and an obvious site for Bronze Age burial (3). Mound 4m high and c.35m in diameter. Possibly natural - glacial deposit ? May be spoil heap associated with the construction of nearby reservoirs (4).
