Full Description
Possible round barrow. Referred to by Marriott in 1810 as 'a large circumference of earth, but so exceedingly defaced, as to leave only a probability of its having been a sepulchral barrow'. It was crossed by an embankment leading from Sponds Hill to Pott Moor (1). In 1978 no trace of mound, although disturbed areas were noted at SJ 95857933 & 95957936 (2). 1988 survey could find no trace of the barrow, although a ditch/hollow way runs down the slope from ESE to WSW. Disturbed areas noted in (2) are quarries (3).
