<6> Gifford and Partners, 1994, Report on an Archaeological Watching Brief at Holford Hall, Plumley, Cheshire (Client Report). SCH4136.

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on 26-27th April 1994 during groundworks carried out as part of the construction of a two-storey extension to Holford Hall. A former south wing to the west range of the hall was identified dating to the 17th or 18th century. A general deposit of clay pre-dating the present hall was also recorded and possibly represents a platform built from clay excavated from the moat and may be medieval in date.
