Summary

A round earthen mound lies on top of a natural rise in wooded parkland. It is slightly oval and measures 20 metres x 19 metres and is up to 1m high. Round barrows are a type of burial mound, particularly used in the Bronze Age. Mounds of earth and stone were placed over a burial or cremation. A single barrow could be re-used for several later burials.

Full Description

A round earthen mound on top of a natural rise, 24m diam x 1.2m high. In wooded parkland (1). OS suggest mound is probably a tree ring (2). Diam 22.4m x 1m high. Barrow utilises a natural low mound. No sign of a ditch. Could be a ring cairn (3). Mound is reported to be sinking (4). Slightly oval earthen mound , 20m x 19m and up to 1m high (5).
