Summary

A grade II listed shippon (cow house) and granary at Lima Farmhouse. The building was probably built in the late seventeenth century and a carthouse was added in the nineteenth century. The walls are coursed squared buff sandstone rubble with a stone-slate roof and stone ridge. One end of the building is the shippon and to the right is the door to the granary on the upper storey approached by a pair of flights of stone steps.

Shippon and granary: probably late seventeenth century with later alterations and a nineteenth century addition of a carthouse. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble, Kerridge stone-slate roof and stone ridge. Long rectangular plan. two-storey, seven-bay front. Left end is a shippon. To right is door to granary on upper storey approached by a pair of flights of stone steps. To right of door is small two-light stone-mullioned window with leaded glazing. Remaining openings are rectangular, some with sub-triangular lintels and some with heavy wooden frames. Right end bay has a cart entrance with rock-dressed elliptical headed doorcase. There is access to an under storey from left side and rear.

Interior: Has a timber framed and brick nogged partition wall and many heavy beams, some cambered.
