Full Description
The Worralls and Birch Farm Cottage, Hollin Lane. Formerly farmhouse and cottage, now two houses. The Worralls is C17 with mid C19 alterations and additions. Partly timber framed on brick plinth, partly brick, stone- slate roof. Five-bay south front. Right bays original and have C19 wooden mullioned windows with flat hoods. Right gable has regular timber small framing and a tie beam and collar truss with an original wood mullioned window in gable. Birch Farm Cottage is early C19 with C20 alterations. Brick, slate roof. Three-bay front, rusticated stone quoins. C20 mullioned and transomed windows. Full architectural description (1).
