Full Description
Gate Piers to north forecourt, Lyme Hall. Gate Piers or tiny lodges late C17, remainder mid C18 or 1821. Ashlar buff sandstone, square in plan on moulded plinth. Body has clasping rusticated quoins with semi-circular headed window to rear. Capstone has later lions. Chimney for fireplaces in these tiny lodges is now the urn at the centre of the overthrow (1). Shown on painting of north front of Lyme Park of c.1690 (2).
