Full Description
A hoard of Roman coins was discovered in the cellar of No 40 or 42 Northgate Street east (then the premises of Mr Harvey, ironmonger) in 1883 approximately 9.1m from the street frontage. The hoard comprised large and small bronze coins estimated as a ‘bucket full’ but was not recorded in any further detail. (1)
A single coin of Antoninus Pius was recorded from this find. (2)
