Formerly hall, now house: late sixteenth century with later seventeenth century rubble rebuild and some twentieth century alterations. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble, Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and one brick ridge chimney. H-plan lobby entry house, two-storey, four-bay front. Left end bay under gable has five-light rubble mullioned windows under rubble hood moulds. Right end bay projects slightly under gable and has twentieth century windows under rubble hood moulds. Left of centre is projecting gabled porch with a cambered lintel. To right are twentieth century window and a seventeenth century style dormer. Two rubble mullioned windows on right gable. End bays extend to rear where they show two timber-framed trusses with small framing and brick nogging. These may suggest an originally timber framed house. Was originally Legh Old Hall replaced as main residence by Legh Hall.

"Lee Hall," another residence here, in Elizabeth's reign, of the estate of the Worths of Titherington, was vested in the seventeenth century in the Massies of Lee hall, whose heiress in the middle of last century disposed of it to William Brocklehurst, of Macclesfield, in whose family it has since remained, being now the property of T. Unett Brocklehurst, esq. the owner of Henbury.
