Full Description
A small hoard of fourth century bronze coins were recorded during a cut made for a water main in Hunter Street in April 1936. The work was carried out alongside adjacent work at the Odeon Cinema where traces of Roman structural remains were also recorded (CHER 8312/4). The hoard consisted of eleven bronze coins and a plain finger ring of bronze. Dates range from Constantine I, AD 307-337 to Valens, AD 364-375 (1).
