Summary
There were nine fairs held in Macclesfield. The dates have now changed due to the alteration of the calendar in 1752. Those fairs formerly held on St Barnabas Day (June 11) and All Saints Day (Nov 1) are the oldest, but the dates when these were granted are unknown. The fair on June 30 was granted by Elizabeth I in 1595 and those on April 25 and September 23 by Charles II in 1684.

The fair on June 30 was granted by Elizabeth I in 1595 and those on April 25 and September 23 by Charles II in 1684(1).
