Summary

Grade II listed pair of Gatepiers at Gawsworth Old Hall. They date from the late 17th / early 18th century and each has a 20th century ball finial.

Full Description

Pair of Gatepiers approximately 20 yds to north-east of Gawsworth Old Hall. Late 17th/early 18th century painted ashlar. Square piers. Moulded plinths with rebate to inner side terminating in scrolls. Moulded caps with roll and cyma mouldings. Each bears a 20th century ball finial (1). The ground benetah the gatepiers is part of a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
