According to (5), this is the site of the 18th and 19th century mine and earlier workings which have since been built over. Roeder & Graves refer to finds of stone tools, mostly ungrooved mauls, with in the general vicinity of the old Quarry, presumably in part an ancient opencast working. The site has now dissapeared and is covered by gardens and new houses. Recent building associated with drainage work in the grounds of a house disturbed old spoil in which were found a number of grooved/ notched stone tools.
