Summary

There was a Deer Park at Hooton, seat of the Stanley family since Richard II's reign. It is shown on Saxton's map of 1577 though there is no park on Burdett's 1777 map. Extensive parkland is shown at Hooton Hall on first edition OS of 1840, but this is much reduced by 1899.

Shown in Saxtons Map. Webb speaks of a goodly ancient manor and deer park which ever since the reign of King Richard II hath been the seat of the Stanleys of Hooton. (Shown on map which accompanies the article)
