Roman Fibula of 'dolphin' type, 2.5cm long, incomplete and very corroded. Found in Burton Village.

The brooch is probably a Polden Hill Type Collingwood Group E, but might also be a Dolphin type Collingwood Group H. The former may be dated to the second half of the first century AD and the latter the mid first century AD. Both types are well represented at Chester and the surrounding area.
