Full Description
The first maps to show this Primitive Methodist chapel are the OS First Edition 1:528 (1851) (4) and 1:2500 (1876) (1). The movement first preached in Nantwich in 1817, but several years elapsed before the society obtained a footing in the town. In 1826 they purchased a building in Marsh Lane for 100 pounds, and fitted it with seats, a gallery and a pulpit. The chapel continued as a place of worship until 1837, when the building on Welsh Row was opened (2). The building has two storeys and is built of red brick (3).
