A plain nineteenth century brick cottage with gabled end to street. Two storeys; one modern casement window with cambered head; ground storey window with pilaster surround, cornice and modern fenestration; plain doorway with half-glazed door. Included for group value. Nos 122 to 126 (even), Nos 130 to 144 (even), Nuthurst School, Nos 146 and 148 and Churche's Mansion form a group.

<2> Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England (RCHME), 1996, Historic Building Survey: 130-34 (even) Hospital Street, Nantwich, R3583 (Report). SCH7376.

No.134 is probably contemporary with the alterations made to no’s 130 and 132 (mid nineteenth century). It is a small two storied brick house at right angles to the street. An adjoining property on its southern side has been demolished. A parallel range extends from the rear. As it accommodates the stair to the first floor and the brick vaulted cellar beneath the main range, it may be contemporary.

<3> Ordnance Survey, 1851, Nantwich Board of Health Map (Maps and Plans). SCH2431.

This and the adjacent property no.132, are depicted as one building labelled The King’s Arms P.H..
