Presumably built by 1840 to serve the Chester - Crewe Railway.

<2> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, EDT 444/2, 1842 & EDT 443/2, 1838 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.

The tithe maps for Woolstanwood (1838) and Worleston (1842) both depict the railway, however, the later map is the only one to depict the viaduct.
