Summary

Ormerod refers to an old chapel on an island in the lake in 1819, the site then being occupied by a summerhouse. This is pictured in an engraving and early 18th century painting. It is now demolished.

Full Description

Ormerod refers to an old chapel on an island in the lake in 1819, the site being occupied by a summerhouse (1). Buck Bros. engraving shows gazebo (1) and early C18 painting (2) shows square building with pyramidal roof. By 1964, the summerhouse had been demolished (3).
