Summary

This Bronze Age burial mound is a Scheduled Monument. It consists of a low mound on top of knoll to east of Bickerton Hills. Round barrows are a type of burial mound, particularly used in the Bronze age. Mounds of earth and stone were placed over a burial or cremation. A single barrow could be re-used for several later burials.

Full Description

Low mound on top of knoll to east of Bickerton Hills and above, Bickeley Brook. Now heavily ploughed but estimated 20m in diameter and 0.5m in height. Profile survey and photographs taken (1).Bowl barrow located on summit of rounded knoll 140m east of Long La. Mound 24m in diameter and upto 0.5m high (2).
