Summary

Grade II listed 17th century Almshouses. Two adjoining red brick, single storey cottages with attics. They were erected by Lady Wilbraham and endowed in Will of Sir Thomas Wilbraham (died 1660) of Woodhey. They were to benefit of two old men of the parish who would be given 4 pounds per annum and new cap and gown every two years.

Full Description

Almshouses erected by Lady Wilbraham and endowed in Will of Sir Thomas Wilbraham (died 1660) of Woodhey. For benefit of two old men of the parish, given 4pound/annum and new cap and gown every two years (1). Symmetrical block of two cottages of two bays each. Single storey and attic. Red brick with stone dressings. Rusticated quoins and door surrounds.Stone mullioned windows and casements in attic (2). Used for storage.
