Full Description
Stable for the now demolished Woodhey Hall. Early C17 for Sir Thomas Wilbraham. Red brick with blue brick diapering, tile roof. Two storeys, five bays. High stone plinth and flush stone quoins. Four-light stone mullioned windows at each storey. Wide, boarded door at centre for horse access. Interior has ovolo-moulded beams and heavy joists. Queen post trusses (1). Must reflect the symmetry and decoration of the now demolished Elizabethan hall (2).
