Farmhouse of seventeenth century appearance but with a fifteenth century core and later alterations. Brown brick with tile roof. Two storeys and attic, three bays, gabled. Facade has coursed stucco up to first floor band. Flush casements. Fully glazed modern entrance door. Twentieth century barge boards added to gables. Interior: Two heavily moulded fifteenth century ceiling beams, in north west room, together with seventeenth century chamfered beams and exposed ceiling joist. In a south west room there is a deep bevelled beam carved with a rose and thistle motif throughout its length, also exposed ceiling joists. Plain deep bevelled beam in south east room carried by timber post. Bevelled beam in hall and altered staircase in the Jacobean style. Old boarded doors. A principal rafter of a roof truss is carved with a rose and thistle, like the beam in the south west ground floor room. There are some indications that the moulded and carved timbers in this building may not be in their original positions.
