Full Description
A watching brief was carried out ahead of a housing development, following the completion of the Middlewich bypass. In Area 1 recut ditches were observed which seemed to be forming a part of a square/rectangular enclosure. The earliest ditch produced a sherd of Samian AD120-200, but it was probably residual as the upper part produced a sherd of pottery, loosely dated to the 17th century. (1)
