Full Description

The Church Hulme tithe map and award c.1841 shows the land owned by the Manchester to Birmingham Railway, but no structures. Two parcels of land adjacent to the line (or course of the line) are shown at the location of the station. These don't entirely correspond with the full extent of the station shown on later maps.

This map depicts the station building adjacent to the downline to the immediate north of the road bridge taking Station Road across the railway line. The platform continues to the south of the road bridge. The up line platform is confined to the area north of the bridge and includes a waiting room or platform shelter. A the north-eastern end of the platform is a signal box. A goods shed, sidings, crane and manual wagon turntables are depicted to the north-east and east of the station.

A previously depicted, but with some minor changes to the sidings. Steps from Station Road are depicted providing access to the down line platform.

Indistinct, but the goods yard seems to be still extant, as do the station buildings.

The goods yard is no longer extant, though the goods shed appears to be still extant. The signal box and the waiting room / platform shelter are also no longer extant. The latter replaced by a modern structure. The station buildings have been demolished and replaced with the present flat roofed structure.
