Full Description
In 1976, during the construction of a fire escape at the YMCA (Old Bishop's Palace) an assemblage Roman pottery, nails and some glass was recovered. The pottery is datable to a period between c AD 140 - 270/280 and includes Black Burnished ware, Hartshill-Mancetter mortaria, Castor and Rhenish fine ware and Severn Valley ware (1).
No other information on the nature of this intervention, and it is only described by a brief finds report (1).
