Full Description
Many fragments of first and second century pottery, including some Samian ware, was recovered from the site of the Gaumont Picture Palace, Brook Street, during the 1940s (1). The assemblage represents casual finds by workmen at the site of a non-archaeological intervention, and no other information is available on the context from which it was recovered. The period covered by these sherds dates from the late first to the second half of the second century (1).
