Country house. 1841-43. By Edward Blore for George Ackers. Coursed sandstone ashlar and snecked sandstone rubble with a slate roof. Two storeys with three and four-storey towers. Castellated Gothic. ( Full architectural description in List entry)

A new-build of 1841–46, Great Moreton Hall is Cheshire’s only complete and surviving ‘Castellated Gothic’ work by Edward Blore…. The estate’s own quarries on Mow Cop supplied the stone for the external walls.
