Full Description
In 1976, excavation for the construction of a fire escape at the YMCA (Old Bishop's Palace) produced pottery dating from Roman to post medieval times (1). Saxon period pottery was recovered, at least two Chester ware rim sherds of cooking pots or jars (1).
