Large farmhouse: early seventeenth century, late eighteenth century extensions to rear, some late nineteenth century alterations. Irregular bond red brick with buff sandstone dressings, Welsh slate roof, two massive lateral brick chimneys. three-storey symmetrical three-bay front. Stone plinth, flush stone quoins, moulded band at first floor which rises to form hood moulds over the windows. End bays have deepened three-light stone mullioned windows containing plain sashes below, rebated chamfered five-light stone mullioned windows with flat hood at first floor, and rebated chamfered three-light mullioned window in top storey. Central projecting gabled two-storey porch has coping, kneelers and mace finials. Late nineteenth century doorcase with chamfered lintel and half-glazed door. Two-light window above and stone surround to plaque of boldly carved lion rampant. Graffito on kneeler of a lozenge, worn date (1624?) and initials HC. Interior: originally of only two large rooms on each floor. Modern hall has pine dogleg stair. Room to right has dado with fielded panels. Room to left has massive unmoulded ceiling beams, also found upstairs. Modern fireplaces throughout. Several early three-board doors, now papered over.
