Full Description
In 1939, while excavating a trench for a water pipe in Queen’s Park Rd., to the City Schools on the south side of the road, two Castor ware beakers were found (1). One had been located near the northern kerb of the road, c 67m east of the southwest corner of Bottom’s Lane (note the length of Bottom’s Lane has changed since 1939), and the other was found c 5.5m to the east of the first, on the south side of the road (1). Both beakers had a pale buff coloured fabric, a worn metallic black slip, and while they were complete, had been badly fractured.
