Machine dug trench for electricity supply to new Telecom Mast observed 17.2.03. Trench to cut line of Roman road from Middlewich to Whitchurch.
5 metre stretch of cobbles in a sandy matrix 10cm thick and overlying clay. Adjacent to a shallow u shaped cut 0.2m deep and 0.4m wide. Possible evidence of the roman road in this location
