Earthworks indicative of ridge and furrow are visible on this survey at this location. The ridge and furrow appear to be of one block aligned north-east to south-west and is approximately 7m wide from ridge to ridge. It probably dates from the medieval period.

<2> Historic England & Archaeological Research Services, 2017, Cheshire National Mapping Programme and Lidar Mapping Project: Sampling the Peak Fringe, Cheshire Plain and Mersey Valley, 1606652 (Digital Archive). SCH8172.

A couple of areas of the ridge and furrow appear to be purely medieval in date, the majority of the remainder appearing to originate in the medieval period, with post medieval straightening and splitting of the broad ridges to create extra furrows.
