Medieval / post medieval ridge and furrow ploughing in the parish of Crewe-by-Farndon is visible as earthworks centred at approximately SJ 422 526 on historic aerial photography and lidar imagery, though much appears to have been levelled by the latest 2013 vertical imagery.

A couple of areas of the ridge and furrow appear to be purely medieval in date, the majority of the remainder appearing to originate in the medieval period, with post medieval straightening and splitting of the broad ridges to create extra furrows. A large area of fields in the east of the parish appear to consist of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow.

A number of fields of medieval / post medieval ploughing in the heart of the parish appear to be directly associated with contempory settlement earthworks and have been recorded separately.
