A building and landscape survey was undertaken in 2001 at Little Moreton Hall, as part of a wider scheme of works. Two farm buildings were investigated - the seventeenth century Shippon Range (CHER 130/1/3) and the nineteenth century Cow house. The cowhouse lay on the east side of the farmyard to the east of Little Moreton Hall. It is a two storey, English garden wall bonded, brick built, five bay structure with a staircase between bays 2 and 3, and a thin slate roof. The ground floor was used as a milking parlour with 10 milking stalls. The first floor was accessed only via a narrow stairwell; there were two rooms at this level.
