A spur off 70a south of Franley (SJ 639 791) can be traced on lidar and Satellite Aerials across the fields to the edge of Comberbach (SJ 644 776). Its is most noticeable in "Stoney Field" (Tithe Map) just to the west of Field Farm (SJ 642 783). Beyond Comberbach it probably follows Marbury Road on an alignment taking it directly to the Northwich Roman fort but no evidence has been found to confirm this part of the route
