Summary

The site of two successive Primitive Methodist chapels. The chapel was reputedly established in 1832, though there is no building depicted on the 1845 tithe map. The original chapel building was replaced between 1898-1910, this later building being demolished sometime after 1945.

This map depicts two adjoining buildings set back slightly from Brookside and adjacent to a short field access lane. Labelled Primitive Methodist Chapel.

This map depicts a single building directly fronting Brookside, suggesting that this is a new chapel building. Labelled Methodist Chapel (Primitive).

The return for Kingsley Primitive Methodist chapel, completed by Samuel Harvey, a Trustee for the chapel, dates the construction of the chapel to 1832.

The chapel building is clearly visible and the roof ridges form a cross.
