Full Description

A number of small post medieval collieries are visible as earthworks on air photographs centred at SJ 8465 5676. The collieries are comprised of shafts, associated shaft mounds, an extractive pit, spoil heaps, a pond and several trackways. The earthworks were mapped as part of the Staffordshire National Mapping Programme Project and are depicted on historic Ordnance Survey mapping. Elements of the earthworks are extant on the latest 2010 vertical photography (see 2 & 3).

This map depicts two features including a short linear depression, labelled Dip (Coal).
