This map depicts two buildings at this location which correspond with the farmhouse and the barn. The plot is described as Green's House, buildings, garden, yard and roads.
<7> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ9582, 1871-1883 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
This map depicts the farmhouse as two buildings adjoining along the long axis. A further small square building is attached on the north-western side. To the north-east is a garden/orchard and to the south-east is a yard. To the south of the yard is the barn. A smaller building adjoins the barn at its south-eastern ens. This building is orientated north-east to south-west. To the north-west of the barn is a small building, a possible pigsty. A well is depicted in the field to the east of the farmstead. Labelled Green’s Farm.
<8> Ordnance Survey, 1896-1898, Ordnance Survey First Revision County Series (Epoch 2) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ9582, 1897-1898 (Maps and Plans). SCH3848.
As previously depicted (see 7). Labelled Green Farm.
<9> Ordnance Survey, 1909-1912, Ordnance Survey Second Revision County Series (Epoch 3) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ9582, 1909 (Maps and Plans). SCH4361.
There have been changes to the farmhouse. The building appears much broader than previously depicted, but the building has been reduced in length on the south-western side. The building located on the south-eastern side of the barn has been demolished and the north-western side extended so that the barn now forms an L shape. Labelled Green Farm.
<10> Huntings Surveys Ltd, 1971-1973, 1971-1973 County Survey, HSL UK 71 109 Run 46 no.3997, 07/07/1971 (Aerial Photograph). SCH4881.
The farmstead appears as much as it did on the 1909 Ordnance Survey map (see 9).
<11> National Remote Sensing Centre Ltd, 1992-3, National Remote Sensing Centre County Survey (1992-1993), 173/92 023, 31/10/1993 (Aerial Photograph). SCH5297.
An L-shaped building has been constructed within the area of the yard to the immediate north of the barn. The Farmhouse now appears to adjoin the 1896 shippon. A further farm building and yard area constructed to the north of the farmhouse.
<12> Various, Various, Oral communication to the HER, Edwards R, 05/05/2022 (Oral Communication). SCH2330.
The changes to the barn correspond with the date (1896) of the shippon referred to in the list description (see 5) and suggest a similar date for the nineteenth century alterations to the farmhouse (see 4).
