Full Description

Formerly house, later pub, now house and shop: dated 1753 for I Sadler but of two builds, twentieth century alterations. Flemish bond orange brick on natural red sandstone base containing a rock-cut cellar. Welsh slate roof, two brick chimneys. Single-pile plan. Three-storey, four-bay front. Two-light steel casements in ground storey, wooden casements elsewhere. The two main storeys have flat gauged and rubbed brick heads with key blocks. Second bay has a twentieth century gabled porch and doorway approached by four steps. Right gable end has an added shop front and diamond-shaped datestone in gable. Interior: not inspected.
