<2> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, EDT 390/2, 1845 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.
This map depicts the farmstead at the end of a wide lane from the Lymm Road. The map depicts the house and barn, with two smaller buildings in-between and a further barn-like building to the immediate west in the lane. The plot is described as 'House, farm, buildings, yard, garden and occupation road' occupied by William Houghton.
<3> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ6587, 1874 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
The farmstead depicted on this map is very similar to that depicted on the tithe map (see 2). Orchards lie to the north of the house and east of the barn.
<4> Ordnance Survey, 1896-1898, Ordnance Survey First Revision County Series (Epoch 2) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ6587, 1898 (Maps and Plans). SCH3848.
The barn-like building within the lane has been demolished, as have the buildings between the house and the barn. A block of three pigsties have been built to the east of their location.
<5> The GeoInformation Group, 2005, 1940s RAF Aerial Photographs from Operation Review (Aerial Photograph). SCH4608.
The lane now connects with Stockport Road to the south and the farmstead still appears to be serving it’s original purpose.
