A building, fronting onto Carden Lane, is depicted on the Tithe Map of 1840 and listed as Plot 119, cottage croft and garden owned by John Hurleston Leche and occupied by Samuel Furmstone. This plot is L-shape, one acre in area and located to the east of Carden Lane. The 1st edition OS map of 1876 documents that the cottage has been demolished and a new house built further east, away from Carden Lane.
