Summary

A Tollemache Estate farm, built in the estate style in the early to mid nineteenth century. The farmstead comprises the farmhouse and an L-shaped range of combination farm buildings. Converted to housing sometime in the 1980s.

Farmhouse, circa 1860, built as part of the Tollemache Estate. Red brick with blue tile roof. Two storeys, three bays. Part glazed, studded door, with false strap hinges, in brick porch with side lights and gabled roof with timbers in apex, also finial. Two-to four-light cast iron lozenge windows with stone sills and heads at ground level but under gabled dormers, with timbered apexes and finials, at first floor level. Steep pitched roof with exposed purlin ends and finials to gables. Separated flues linked at the caps. One of the better preserved farms in this Estate style.

Multi-purpose farm buildings circa 1860. Red brick with blue tile roof. "L" shaped plan, two storeys,five and seven bays. Half heck and full length boarded doors on hook and band hinges. Modern metal hopper lights ground floor. Single cast iron lattice window first floor. Circular pitch holes with stone sills and doors. Steep pitched roofs with exposed purlin ends and apex finials. Listed for group value only.

This map depicts an L shaped building, possibly a farmhouse, with a long farm building to the south east. The award describes this plot as house, buildings and garden.

This map depicts the farmhouse with an L-shaped range of farm buildings to the south-east. To the immediate north-east of the farmhouse is an outbuilding. A possible yard is located between the farmhouse and the farm buildings.

Further buildings have been constructed on the south-eastern side of the L-shaped range. These include a possible open sided barn.

The farmstead appears as depicted on the 1898 Ordnance Survey map (see 5). To the immediate north-east of the farm house is a pair of sties. An L-shaped range of farm buildings form a yard to the south-east of the farmhouse, open to the roadside. Behind the south-western farm building are two open sided barns.

The farm buildings have been converted to housing.
