Browside farm an eighteenth/nineteenth century farmstead depicted on the Tithe Map of Lyme Handley of circa 1850. The farmhouse was originally built as a row of three estate cottages for workers of the Lyme Hall Estate. Three outbuildings lie to the south-west and south of the farmhouse. Also, to the south-east of the farmhouse is the site of a small rectangular building documented on nineteenth century mapping.

An archaeological survey was undertaken of and around the farm in 2003, it describes the buildings as constructed from coursed sandstone blocks with stone slate rooves. The two-storey farmhouse range has two sandstone ridge chimney stacks, the southern of which has triangular sandstone upright slabs surmounting the chimney stack. The farmhouse has eighteenth or nineteenth century additions against the western wall in the middle of the range and modern additions built in a traditional style against the western (to the south) and northern walls. To the south-west of the farmhouse is a two storey outbuilding range. This was originally 'L-shaped' and has had modern additions built against the southern and western walls in the same style as the original building. To the south of farmhouse is a two-storey outbuilding and shed. All of the buildings were built sometime before 1850, the date of the Tithe Map for Lyme Handley, on which the farm can be seen in some detail. The farmstead also appears on the OS 1840 map and is annotated 'Browside'.
