<1> RSK Environment Ltd., 2019, Beeston Cattle Market, Whitchurch Road, Tarporley, Cheshire West and Chester: Report on an Archaeological Evaluation and Level 1 Building Recording, R4372 (Client Report). SCH8787.

A small single storey brick structure thought to be part of the adjacent Second World War fuel storage facility (see CHER 4096). The survey identified that the building was most likely to have been constructed as a control room for a weighbridge associated with a sand-pit, worked from about 1910 to 1970. The sand pit and control room building are depicted on a 1974 Ordnance Survey map with the control room building located at the entrance of the sand-pit.
