Slightly curving north-south aligned earthwork. The earthwork comprises what appears to be a wide bank c.14m wide flanked by two narrow ditches. It appears to be respected by the adjacent ridge and furrow earthworks.

<2> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, EDT 96/2 c.1842 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.

This earthwork possibly corresponds to a curving field boundary depicted on this map separating plots 196 and 197 from 195, 198, 199 and 200.

In places, especially at SJ40636425, a c.6m wide bank is visible to the west of the western flanking ditch. To this area’s south, adjacent to the woodland at SJ40636418, the bank becomes widens abruptly to 10m. A further wide bank is located to its immediate west. There is a suggestion that these new earthworks continue in the woodland to the south.
