<1> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, EDT 189/2, 1839 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.

The Haslington tithe map of 1839 shows three buildings at this location, within plot 536 which is recorded as house, buildings, and fold. The buildings comprise: (Building 1) a long narrow north-east to south-west aligned building c.45 metres long and c.6.5 metres wide. At its north-eastern end, and connected to its south-eastern side, is a similar building (Building 2) c.35 metres long and c.6.5 metres wide, orientated north-west to south-east. Forming the third side of a square area, and located a little to the south-west of the south eastern side of this building, is a further building (Building 3) c.35 metres long and c.6.5 metres wide. A number of enclosures are associated with these buildings.

This map depicts a similar arrangement of buildings to the 1839 tithe map (see 1). Further smaller buildings are depicted attached to the north-eastern end of Building 1 and the adjacent Building 2. What was Building 3, is depicted as two smaller buildings separated by c.7 metre enclosed rectangular space.

The buildings to the north-east of Buildings 1 and 2 are no longer extant.

Largely as previously depicted. The enclosures are no longer depicted. Building 1 has been reduced in length at its north-eastern end. A chimney is depicted at the north-eastern end of this area adjacent to Holmshaw Lane.

"...a fine block of oak framed farm buildings on a stone foundation, at right angles to Homeshaw-lane, which were in existence in 1911, have now disappeared. They were at that time in good state of preservation allowing for their age, and of very artistic appearance".
