Full Description
<1> L-P Archaeology, 2019, Archaeological Watching Brief Report: Queens Park School, Handbridge, R4289 (Client Report). SCH8670.
An archaeological watching brief was carried out in 2018 during demolition and groundworks at Queens Park School, Handbridge, Chester. A potential Roman ditch and fill, cut into the natural substrate, were identified, and associated ceramic building material collected. The ditch had a vertical section, and it is possible that the ditch cut may represent the edge of quarrying activity in the area. As the feature lay within a new service trench, its full extent and depth were not exposed.
