Summary

The site of a farmstead depicted on historic maps. Called Bankhouse Farm, this farmstead comprised a farmhouse and a number of associated farm buildings.

This map depicts the farmstead and labels it 'Bank House'.

This map depicts the farmhouse with two farm buildings (which are almost parallel to each other) to the south. The farmhouse is depicted as having a semi-circular (in plan) projection on the northern elevation. The award records the plot as ‘house called Bank House. Outbuildings, yard and garden’.

This map depicts the farmhouse, though the semi-circular projection depicted on the tithe map (see 2) is not evident. The two farm buildings have been connected by another building forming an H shape in plan. The farmstead is labelled ‘Bankhouse Farm’.

Additional farm buildings have been constructed; an open sided barn to the south-west of the farmhouse and another farm building to the east.

An additional open sided barn has been built to the south-west.

The farmstead has been demolished and the area is now in use as a dredging disposal site.
